The above fringes, excluding I.A.P. are paid to employees in the form
of “stamps” and placed in his weekly pay envelope. These stamps are purchased
from the Union Fund Office.
A separate check for the I.A.P. Fund, made payable to the Industry Advancement
Program for hours worked, to be presented at same time purchase of stamps is
made at the Union Fund Office.
WORK HOURS:
8 hour day
40 hour week
8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
1/2 hour lunch option
JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
*Maintenance Engineer “A” rate:
Installing, repairing, maintaining, dismantling of all eguipment including: steel cutting
and bending machines, mine hoists, tower cranes, linden peine, lorrain liebherr,
mannes or machines of a similar nature. Well point systems, driving maintenance
trucks and truck mounted welding machines – when 3 or more motorized concrete
buggies (ride types) are utilized on the job site, they shall be serviced, maintained
and reparied by the maintenance engineer.
JOB DESCRIPTIONS: CON’T
**Maintenance Engineer “B” rate:
Operating, installing, repairing, maintaining & dismantling all pumps regardless of
motor power and size except river cofferdam pumps and wellpoint pumps, mechanical
heaters (excluding Radiant type heaters), generators, concrete mixers with loading device,
motor generators when used for temporary power.
***Apprentice Engineer/Oiler “A” rate:
(Service Engineers) All gasoline, electric, diesel or air operated: gradalls, concrete pumps,
power houses, driving truck cranes, driving and operating fuel and grease trucks: their duties
shall be to assist the Engineer in oiling, greasing and repairing all machines.
****Apprentice Engineer/Oiler “B” rate:
(Service Mechanics) All gasoline, electric, diesel or air operated: cranes, backhoes,
trenching machines, gunite machines, compressors (3 or more in battery), overhead
cranes in power houses: their duties shall be to assist the Engineer in oiling,
greasing and repairing all machines.
OVERTIME:
Conditions: Excess of 8 hours per day
Excess of 40 hours per week
Saturday, Sunday and Holidays
Wages: Double time on overtime hours
Fringes: On hours paid EXCEPT for Pension and IAP
funds which are paid straight time for hours worked.

NOTE: The above holidays are to be paid even if occuring on Saturday. If above
holidays occur on a Sunday, they will be observed on Monday.
ELIGIBILITY FOR HOLIDAY PAY WITHOUT WORKING:
Employees must work one day in the payroll week in which the holiday occurs to
be eligible for Holiday pay. (Notice attached)
SHIFTWORK:
Two Shifts: The work period for each shift shall be continuous 8 hours
to be paid at straight time.
Three Shifts: Each shift will work 7 1/2 hours but will be paid for 8 hours at
straight time with 1/2 hour for mealtime.
Work Week: 8:00 a.m. Monday to 8:00 a.m. Saturday – except when necessary
to conform with Article IV, Section 6 of the Trade Agreement.
